Stamp Me alternatives: five loyalty apps compared for 2026

Why owners look beyond Stamp Me, from the customer app to one location per plan, and five alternatives compared on the same questions.

On this page

We make NextStamp, one of the apps in this comparison. Every app gets the same questions, and they appear in alphabetical order. How we compare apps

People usually search for Stamp Me alternatives after a customer at the counter has said “I don’t want another app”. Stamp Me is built around its own customer app, and every alternative below takes a different route: a web page, a wallet pass or the checkout itself. Which one suits you depends on how your stamps get given today and how many locations you run.

We compared five alternatives on the same questions: BonusQR, Boomerangme, Loopy Loyalty, NextStamp and Square Loyalty. Everything we say about them comes from their own websites, read on 6 October 2026, and NextStamp, which is ours, is labelled wherever it appears. You can read how we compare loyalty apps before you start.

Why owners look for a Stamp Me alternative

The app download

Stamp Me’s own blog spells out the order of things: customers download the Stamp Me app, create an account and join your loyalty programme, and only then collect. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet can hold their member code for a quicker checkout, but the stamp card itself stays in the app. A customer who puts the download off collects nothing until they get round to it.

One location per plan

Each of Stamp Me’s plans, from Lite to Elite, lists a single location. That suits one café well. A second shop means a second plan, where some alternatives cover several locations in one.

No way to try it free for good

Stamp Me has a 30-day trial that starts when you publish your first card, but no free plan. If you would like to run a small card for months before paying anything, BonusQR and NextStamp both have a free plan. NextStamp’s, which is ours, covers one outlet, one card and up to 50 customers.

Five alternatives side by side

Stamp Me stays in the table for reference. Prices are each company’s cheapest paid plan, as shown on its pricing page.

With BonusQR, a customer scans your QR code, creates an account in one click and gets a personal code, which your staff scan on each visit. It works as a web app, so nobody has to visit an app store first, and it has Android and iOS apps plus Apple Wallet and Google Wallet for those who want them.

Against Stamp Me, BonusQR removes the download and adds a free plan with no time limit. Like Stamp Me, it relies on staff scanning the customer’s code, and it offers more schemes than stamps alone. Its free plan comes with one manager login.

Boomerangme

Boomerangme issues the card itself as an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass, so there is no app for customers to install, and staff work from a Scanner App in the browser of any phone, tablet or computer.

Where Stamp Me focuses on stamp cards, Boomerangme spreads wider, from punch and cashback cards to memberships, coupons and gift cards. Its Business plan includes ten locations and fifty managers, which is the main reason a growing group might choose it over one Stamp Me plan per shop. It costs more to start, and the trial is 14 days.

Loopy Loyalty

Loopy Loyalty sits closest to Stamp Me in spirit: a company focused on digital stamp cards. The difference is where the card lives. Loopy’s customers save it straight to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet with no download, and staff scan it with the Stamper app.

Its plans grow by locations, from one on Starter to ten on Ultimate, with unlimited customers throughout. If the app download is your only problem with Stamp Me, Loopy Loyalty is the most like-for-like move. There is no free plan, and the trial runs 15 days.

NextStamp is ours. Customers join by scanning your poster and signing up with a name and email, without installing anything, and they can add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, where the pass updates itself. To collect, a customer scans the till poster or taps an NFC tag at the counter, and the request chimes at your till for staff to approve.

If you like Stamp Me’s StampTag, NextStamp’s tap tags do a similar job without an app: a secure tag signs every tap, and a person still approves each stamp. Staff can also scan the customer’s card when that’s quicker. One card can work at all your outlets or only some, and the app speaks nine languages. Unlike Stamp Me, it has a Free plan, for one outlet, one card and up to 50 customers, and every new business starts with 30 days of Growth without a card.

Square Loyalty isn’t a stamp card app at all: it is a points programme built into Square’s checkout. Customers join with their mobile number at the register, on an invoice or online, and points come with each payment.

It is only an alternative to Stamp Me if Square already takes your payments. If it does, nobody scans anything, which is as quick as loyalty gets. If it doesn’t, it is off the table. Prices are per location, set by each location’s loyalty visits.

When Stamp Me is still a good choice

Stamp Me has things the alternatives here don’t. StampPod is a device that sits at your point of sale, and StampTag lets customers tap for a stamp, both on top of one-off codes and staff scanning. The company says it has specialised in digital stamp cards for more than 15 years.

If your customers are happy to download an app, and you value hardware at the counter more than a quick first visit, it may well be the right choice. The download is a cost, but for some businesses it buys a place on the customer’s home screen.

Moving your customers across

Decide first how you will treat the stamps people have already collected, because a regular’s first question will be about their nine of ten. Honouring them on the new card is the simplest answer. In NextStamp, you can add stamps to a customer’s card yourself, with the reason recorded, or set welcome stamps that every new customer gets on joining.

Run both side by side for a short while if you can, and say so at the counter. A sign by the till that tells customers how to join the new card does more than any email.

Questions owners ask

Do customers need an app for a digital stamp card?

Not with most apps. Of the six in this comparison, only Stamp Me asks customers to install one. The others use a page that opens in the browser, a pass in the phone’s own wallet, or the customer’s mobile number at the checkout. Our page on the digital loyalty card explains how a card without an app works.

Can the whole stamp card live in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

With BonusQR, Boomerangme, Loopy Loyalty and NextStamp, the customer can keep the card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Stamp Me’s wallet pass holds the member code rather than the card, and Square Loyalty’s UK page mentions an Apple Wallet pass for tracking points.

Which alternative is closest to Stamp Me?

Loopy Loyalty, if what you want is a dedicated stamp card company without the customer app. If you want customers to ask for a stamp themselves, as with StampTag, NextStamp is built around that, with staff approving every request.
