Design your loyalty card
Start from a design suggested for your business, then lay out your logo, words, stamps and background yourself.
A card that looks like your business is easier to find on a phone full of apps. You lay it out yourself, like a poster: your logo, your words, your stamps in their own shape and colours, and a pattern behind. It shows the same way on customers’ phones, at the till and on their wallet passes.
Open the designer
Owners and admins design the card. Open the card from Overview, then:
- While you’re editing the card, go to its Look section and tap Design your card.
- On a live card with no changes waiting, tap Design card beside Edit card.
The designer shows the card on top and its settings underneath, or beside it on a wider screen. It fills in a few sample stamps, so you can see collected, empty and reward stamps at once.
Start from a suggestion or a style
The Templates tab opens on Suggested for you: three designs picked for your business from its name, its trade and the card’s reward, drawn in your logo’s colour when you have a logo. Tap one to use it.
Under All styles are the eight styles to choose from: Classic, Honeycomb, Pop, Café cream, Soft, Tiles, Blossom and Forest. They’re all drawn in the colour shown under Drawn in. Tap it to pick another colour, or tap Your logo’s colour. A style keeps your stamp art and pattern.
Picking a suggestion or a style replaces the whole design. If you change your mind, Undo brings yours back.
Move and change things
- Tap anything on the card to select it. Its settings open under the card.
- Drag it to move it. It snaps to the middle of the card and lines up with other things.
- Drag a corner to make it bigger or smaller.
- Undo and Redo sit at the top, and keep your last 50 steps.
The Add tab adds text, a heading, your logo, a stamp, a rectangle, a circle or a photo. A card holds up to 30 things, and up to 2 of them can be photos (PNG, JPEG or WebP). The Background tab sets a colour, a gradient or a photo behind everything, and a pattern: dots, grid, stripes, waves, doodles, honeycomb or confetti, in a colour you choose.
Your words
Select some text to change its words, font, size, colour and alignment. Text shrinks to fit its box, so a long card name never spills over.
Smart fields keep your words true to the card: Business name, Card name, Stamps to fill and Reward. Tap one to put it in your text. A line made of Collect, Stamps to fill, stamps and Reward reads “Collect 8 stamps: Free nail trim” on the card, and it changes by itself when you change the stamps or the reward.
The stamps
Every card has one set of stamps, and customers see their own progress in it. Select the stamps to set:
- Shape. Circle, rounded, square, hexagon or flower.
- Collected stamps. Their colour, and the picture inside: a built-in one or your own image.
- Empty stamps. A fill, a ring, or both.
- Reward stamps. The stamps that earn a reward get their own colour and picture until they’re collected. Tick Name each reward under its stamp to show what each one earns.
- Stamps in a row. Best fit lays out any number of stamps as large as their box allows. Pick a number to fix it.
Under On a collected stamp and On a reward stamp, choose each icon separately. Tap Show all icons to see the full set in either place. Beneath the choices, Icon colour changes the picture itself, and Accent colour changes its second colour when it has one. These are separate from the stamp’s background colour. Your choices stay when you pick another icon; Reset icon colours brings back the defaults. Uploaded images keep their original colours.
The stamps always stay on the card and above everything else, and they can’t be made smaller than half the card’s width.
When customers see it
The designer saves as you go, into a draft. Customers keep seeing the card as it is until you tap Publish. On a live card, NextStamp asks first, and tells you if the draft has other changes you made in the card editor, because publishing sends those too.
Once published, every customer sees the new design straight away, on cards they’ve already started too.
On My cards
On My cards, customers see one card at a time and swipe sideways between them, with the cards beside it peeking in at the edges. A clear logo or name near the top helps them tell your card apart at a glance.
Your logo
Your logo belongs to the business, not to one card. Add it in Settings, under Business, by tapping your business to open Business details:
- Tap Upload logo, or drag a file onto the tile.
- Choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP image of 10 MB or less. A square logo fills the space best.
- Tap Save details.
The logo shows on a white tile wherever you put it on the card. Without one, the tile shows your business’s initial. Edit your business details covers the other details on that screen.
Where the design shows
- Customers’ phones. My cards, the card’s own screen and the scan screen show the whole card. See what your customers see.
- The till. The customer sheet shows the stamps in the card’s shape and colours, so staff can tell cards apart when you run more than one.
- Wallet passes. Apple and Google lay passes out themselves, so a pass takes the card’s colour, its pattern, its stamps and your logo rather than your layout.
- Posters. Posters have their own designs. See print and manage your posters.
