Rewards along the way and welcome stamps
Give treats before the card is full, start new customers with free stamps, and add a one-time welcome reward.
A full card isn’t the only way to reward people. NextStamp cards can hand out smaller treats on the way to the full card, give newcomers a head start, and welcome them with a one-off reward. All three live in the card editor, so they’re for owners and admins, and they reach customers when you publish.
Rewards along the way
Under Rewards along the way (optional), add treats before the card is full, like a cookie at stamp 5. Customers get them every time they fill the card, not just once.
- Tap Add a reward along the way. A new row starts at a free stamp near the middle of the card.
- Choose At stamp, the stamp that earns it.
- Enter the Reward, for example “A cookie”.
- Choose How long they have to use it: never, or 1, 3 or 6 months, or a year after it’s earned.
Each stamp can carry one reward, and a card can have up to 18 rewards along the way. Remove takes a row out.
Customers see them before they join (“At stamp 5: A cookie”) and on their card as the next thing to aim for.
Welcome stamps
Under New customers, Welcome stamps are free stamps a new card starts with, given once when a customer joins. Use 0 for none. The number must be fewer than the stamps it takes to fill the card, so nobody joins to a finished card.
A head start of one or two stamps makes a ten-stamp card feel within reach, which can help people come back for the second visit.
Welcome stamps and the first scan
Below the field, the editor tells you how welcome stamps combine with your First scan setting:
- With Counts as a stamp, a new customer’s first scan of your till poster also asks for 1 stamp, which staff approve, on top of the welcome stamps.
- With Just joins them, that first scan only starts their card, and stamps start on their next visit. Welcome stamps are still given either way.
A welcome reward
Tick Give new customers a reward when they join to add a reward that’s theirs the moment they join, such as “A free pastry”. Choose how long they have to use it, as with any reward.
It’s given once per customer. Leaving your card and rejoining never repeats it, so it can’t be collected twice.
Choosing what to offer
Keep treats along the way smaller than the full-card reward, so the card still feels worth finishing. A welcome reward works best when it brings people back, for example a free pastry with their next coffee, rather than something used on the spot.
