Signing in, passwords and Google
Sign in with email or Google, the business app’s own sign-in, changing your name or password, and what to do if you forget it.
One NextStamp account covers everything you do: the cards you collect, the till you work and the businesses you run. This article covers signing in, Google, changing your name or password, and what to do if you forget it.
Open the NextStamp sign-in page and enter your email and password, or tap Continue with Google. After signing in, NextStamp takes you where you’re most likely to be going: owners, admins and managers to their business, staff to the till, and customers to their cards.
In the business app on your home screen, you sign in on the app’s own sign-in page, which looks the same. On iPhone and iPad, the Home Screen app keeps its own sign-in, separate from Safari’s, so you sign in once inside the app.
Create an account
- For a business: start at create your business account, then set up your business. See set up NextStamp, step by step.
- To join a team: open the invitation link you were sent. See invite your team.
- As a customer: scan the code at the counter of a business on NextStamp. The account is made from there, so the card is ready when you finish.
A password needs 12 to 128 characters. A few unrelated words work well.
Continue with Google
Continue with Google appears on every sign-in and sign-up page. Google always asks which of your accounts to use.
A Google sign-in never joins onto an account made with an email and password, even at the same address. If you made your account with a password, sign in with the password.
On iPhone and iPad, Google’s page opens outside the Home Screen app and can’t sign you in there, so the app hides the button and asks you to use Safari. If your account only uses Google, use NextStamp in Safari on those devices.
Change your name or password
Your name and password are in the customer app’s Account screen, which every account has. From the business app in a browser, go to Settings → My loyalty cards, then the Account tab. The installed app doesn’t show that row, so open nextstamp.app/account in your browser instead.
- Change your name: how you appear to businesses whose card asked for your name, and to your team.
- Change your password: enter your Current password and a New password. Every other device signed in to your account is then signed out.
An account that only uses Google shows “You sign in with Google” instead, because it has no NextStamp password.
Forgotten your password?
NextStamp can’t email you a reset link yet. Until it can:
- Try Google if your account was made with Google.
- Check your other devices. If you’re still signed in on a phone or computer, change your password there under Account.
- Email support@nextstamp.app from the address on the account, with your business’s name if you have one, and we’ll work out the next step with you. Never send a password.
A password manager avoids this entirely, and makes a long password easy.
Error messages
- “That email and password don’t match an account.” Check the address and try again, or try Google.
- “There’s already an account for this email.” Sign in instead.
- “Use a password of 12 to 128 characters.”
- “Too many attempts. Wait a minute, then try again.” Sign-in slows down after several tries in a minute, to protect your account.
- “Signing in with Google didn’t work. Try again, or use your email.”
Signed out unexpectedly?
If the app says you’ve been signed out, your session ended, often because the password was changed on another device. Sign in again. For how sessions work, see how NextStamp keeps accounts secure.
