How NextStamp works

A tour of the business app

What each tab holds (Overview, Give stamps and Settings), which screens sit below them, and switching between businesses.

Updated

The business app is where you and your team run NextStamp: designing cards, working the till, sending campaigns and managing who does what. It opens in any browser at nextstamp.app, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

The tab bar

Along the bottom are up to three tabs. Which ones you see depends on your role:

TabWhat it’s forWho sees it
OverviewThis week’s numbers, customers, campaigns, your cards and outletsOwners, admins and managers
Give stampsScanning cards, approving requests and handing over rewardsEveryone
SettingsBusiness details, team, first scan, reviews, this device and your accountEveryone

Give stamps is the round yellow button in the middle of the bar, because it’s the one you use all day. Staff open straight onto the Give stamps tab, because that’s their work. Roles: owner, admin, manager and staff explains the rest of the differences.

When a customer is waiting at the till and you’re on another tab, the Give stamps tab shows a badge with the number waiting.

Overview

The Overview is your business at a glance, from top to bottom:

  • Your business name with counts of customers, outlets and cards, and Guide, which opens the getting-started guide and its tour of the screen at any time. While setup isn’t finished, four steps sit here: add your outlet, design and publish your card, put up your till poster and give your first stamp.
  • This week: visits, new customers and rewards used over the last seven days, each against the seven days before. Tap Insights for the full picture. Read your numbers in Insights explains each figure.
  • Customers: the number of people on your cards. Tap it to search them, if your role can see customers.
  • Campaigns: “We miss you”, one-off gifts, double stamps and deals, for owners and admins.
  • Loyalty cards: each card with a chip saying Live, Live · changes (a draft waits to be published) or Draft. Owners and admins can add a New card here.
  • Outlets: each place you collect stamps, with Add an outlet for owners and admins.

Once your business is set up, Guide suggests what you haven’t tried yet, from your own data, and what your numbers point to, such as customers slipping away. Give stamps, Settings and each card’s page also have Show me around this screen for a tour of their own.

Owners and admins may also see a banner from NextStamp at the top, for news that affects businesses like yours. You can close it.

Give stamps

The Give stamps tab works the same on a phone at the counter or a laptop in the back. It scans customers’ cards with the camera, takes a typed code, answers requests from the till poster and uses rewards. Using the till goes through it screen by screen.

Campaigns

Campaigns open from the Overview, for owners and admins. They give customers a reason to come back: a gift when they’ve been away, a one-off gift, double stamps on quiet days, or a deal on something you sell. Gifts land on the customer’s card; NextStamp doesn’t send emails or texts. Bring customers back with campaigns covers all four.

Settings

Settings is grouped into:

  • Business: your business details and logo, and Team for owners and admins.
  • Loyalty cards: First scan and Reviews. Limits, expiry and asking for reviews are set on each card.
  • This device: NextStamp app, with the steps to install it here.
  • Help & Support: this help centre and our support email.
  • Account: your name, email and role, and Sign out.

Screens below the tabs

Some screens open from a tab and have a back arrow at the top:

  • A card’s page, from Overview → Loyalty cards: the card editor, lifetime tiers, posters and tap tags.
  • Customers and each customer’s history, from Overview.
  • Insights, from Overview.
  • Team, from Settings.
  • Campaigns and each campaign, from Overview.

If you run more than one business

When your account works at more than one business, your business’s logo sits at the top right. Tap it to open Your businesses and switch; you stay on the same tab where you can. New business at the bottom of that list sets up another one.
