Read your numbers in Insights

Visits, new customers, rewards, customers by visit rhythm, your busiest hours and review-button taps, filtered by period, card or outlet.

Updated

Insights shows how your card is doing: who comes back, when it’s busy, what gets used and what to try next. Everything comes from your own stamps, visits and rewards, with no benchmarks against other businesses. For what’s worth measuring in any small loyalty programme, read what to measure in a loyalty programme.

Who sees Insights

Owners, admins and managers. A manager who works at some outlets sees only those outlets’ numbers. Staff don’t see Insights.

Open it from Overview: the This week block shows visits, new customers and rewards used for the last seven days against the seven before, and the Insights row opens the full screen.

Filters

One row of filters drives every section:

  • Period: 7 days, 30 days (the default), 90 days or 12 months. Totals compare with the period before.
  • Everything, one card or one outlet. A manager limited to some outlets sees All my outlets instead of Everything.

The sections

  • Tips. Suggestions from your own numbers, such as how many customers are slipping away, your quietest day or how many rewards are waiting to be used. Owners and admins get a button to act on them, like Start “We miss you” or Set up double stamps. Tips only use complete days.
  • Totals. Visits, New customers, Rewards used and Coming back, the share of visits made by customers who had been before.
  • Over time. A chart of visits, new customers, stamps or rewards used across the period.
  • Customers by visit rhythm. How many customers are in each group of your visit rhythm: Regulars, Coming back, New, Slipping away and Gone quiet, with links to see each group and to invite those slipping away back. It covers your whole business only.
  • Rewards. Earned, used and expired.
  • Reviews. Taps on your Google and Tripadvisor review buttons. See ask for Google and Tripadvisor reviews.
  • Busiest times. Visits by day and hour over the last 12 weeks.
  • By card and By outlet. How the totals split.
  • Team at the till. Who approved stamps and rewards. Owners and admins only.

What counts as a visit

A visit is a join, or a stamp or reward used 15 minutes or more after the customer’s last one. So three stamps given in one go count as one visit, and so does a customer who collects a stamp and uses a reward at the same counter. A campaign gift is never a visit, because the customer didn’t come in.

The same rule decides when a customer has lapsed for “We miss you”, so Insights and your campaigns always agree.

Review taps, not reviews

The Reviews section counts taps on the buttons, never reviews. Nobody can see whether a customer finished writing one. A customer counts once per outlet, platform and day, however many times they tap.

Download the numbers

Download CSV saves the totals day by day, or month by month for 12 months, for the view you’re looking at. It holds no customer details. In the iPhone Home Screen app, it opens the share sheet instead.

When numbers change

Insights catches up with new stamps within a few minutes. After NextStamp changes how something is counted, the screen may say “Catching up on your history. The numbers fill in over the next few minutes.” while it rebuilds. Your stamps and customers are never affected.
