Run double stamps on quiet days

Add a bonus to every stamp on the days and hours you pick; the till adds it by itself and customers see the offer.

Updated

Double stamps add a bonus to every stamp your team gives on the days and hours you choose. It’s a simple way to fill quiet afternoons: customers see the offer on their card, and the till adds the bonus by itself, so your team does nothing different.

Set it up

  1. In Campaigns, tap New campaign, choose Double stamps and the card, then Create and set it up.
  2. Under How many and when, choose:
    • Double (×2) or Triple (×3).
    • On these days: new drafts pick Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
    • Hours: All day, or Between… with a start and end time. Cafés and bakeries start with 14:00 to 17:00, restaurants with 15:00 to 18:00, and other trades with all day.
    • First day, and a Last day (optional). Without a last day it runs until you end it.
    • Where it runs, if you have two or more outlets: Everywhere the card works, or Only these outlets.
  3. Under Who it’s for, keep the bonus to some tiers or to customers with a number of visits if you like. See bring customers back with campaigns.
  4. Add a Note to customers (optional) if you like, for example “Quiet afternoons are better with a friend”.
  5. Tap Start.

Times are in your business’s timezone. The preview beside the form shows the badge customers will see.

At the till

While double stamps are on, the till shows a banner such as “Double stamps on Coffee Card until 17:00. The bonus is added by itself.” When your team opens a customer’s card, the sheet previews the result, for example “Double stamps now: they get 2 (1 + 1 bonus).”

The bonus is added to stamps given at the till and to approved requests from the till poster or a tap tag. Kept to some outlets, it shows and counts only at their tills; kept to some customers, the banner says who it’s for and only their stamps get the bonus. It’s decided when the stamp is given, on NextStamp’s clock, so a stamp given at 17:01 on a 14:00 to 17:00 offer gets no bonus.

Limits and full cards

The bonus doesn’t count towards the card’s limits per visit and per day, so a one-stamp-a-visit card still gets its doubled stamp. It never goes past the end of the card, though: a customer one stamp from their reward gets just that stamp, and the sheet says there’s no room for a bonus. Your card’s limits still apply to the stamps your team gives. See stamp limits per visit and per day.

What customers see

  • A badge on their card, the scan screen and in My cards while the offer is on.
  • After a stamp, “Stamp added!” with “Including 1 bonus stamp from today’s offer.”
  • In the card’s activity, the stamp and its bonus, such as “+2 stamps (1 double-stamps bonus)”.
  • In Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, an alert when double stamps are switched on, with your note.

Pause or end

Pause stops the till adding bonus stamps until you Resume. End it stops the campaign for good and moves it to Past. Bonus stamps already given stay on customers’ cards.

Double stamps have no gift results. The campaign’s page says how many wallet cards announced them instead. For its effect on visits, compare the days it ran in Insights, where Busiest times shows visits by day and hour. See read your numbers in Insights.
